God's creations are diverse, starting from the race and then to ethnicity as well as skin color. All of them are made just like God. However, with the end of the world approaching, many humans have begun to show their true nature and it is easy to distinguish between good and evil. But it's not just humans who are different, by human actions the earth is also starting to be different. Recently I watched a documentary about our earth starting to get damaged, starting from global warming to climate change and many more disasters that may lead our kind to extinction. I’m starting to get worried because I don’t want to die before graduating college, although I hope we’ve found the solution before I can worry about all of this but even if we have the solution, I don’t think we humans will even try because of our other priorities or individual needs. For example, “Stop Using Plastic” was one of the campaigns to solve this problem but here I am while typing still drinking bubble tea with a plastic bottle. I know what problem we’re facing but I can’t even do the solutions provided to save the world, it’s all useless because we humans can’t walk away from our wrongdoings which one of them is “ignorance” just like myself. It’s written in
Ephesians 4:17-19 “So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed.”
As Christians, this is taught to us by God through his Sermon that we should not be ignorant. The same goes for us and me as human beings living in this imperfect world, we should do our best to save our world by doing many things. There’s nothing wrong with starting small, from starting to use fewer plastic bags to pick up trash from the beaches, simple things like this can also help our earth be a more comfortable and healthier place to live in. Even though we can’t stop natural disasters like Tsunami or Earthquakes, we are taught how to handle the situation, so we don’t get hurt and not lose any lives. “There’s still tomorrow” this sentence is one of the many few sentences that comforted me when life gets tough, especially during situations when I think humanity is losing hope and I can’t cope with the pressure and devastation that was part of my soul. It’s written in
Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
This verse has taught me and comforted me through my troubles also walked me through my imperfect life. Even though I believe God will never give me problems that I can’t handle but sometimes there are moments where I questioned myself if I will be able to survive alone in this world where humans are getting more cruel and heartless. I think anyone can relate when I said that “we’re tired” and these overwhelming situations that we encountered in our lives can be burdening. This world and I are imperfect in its way, living in fear and burden is the last thing that I want myself to experience in my own life. For there’s still a lot of things that are worth fighting for in this world. It’s written in
Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
One of my dad’s favorite verses, that also comforted me in its way. Somehow God knows what will we feel in this life that we are living in, words like this make me feel like God is really with me and I hope through this journal you can also feel the same and come to God when things don’t seem right and learn from His words that our problems will eventually pass.
